Website pricing guide

How much does a website cost in the UK?

The honest answer: it depends on what your business needs, how the website is built, and how much functionality it requires. This guide explains why website prices vary in the UK, what a professional small-business website typically involves, and exactly how Kornastone's bespoke pricing works — with no hidden surprises.

Why website prices vary

There is no single UK website price

A website can be created in several different ways, and the route you choose has a major effect on what you pay and what you get.

DIY or template-based websites

Some small businesses build their own website using a template or platform. The main costs are usually platform subscriptions, a domain name, optional apps or plugins, and the owner's own time to set everything up, write content and keep it updated.

Simple professional builds

Hiring a professional to design and build a straightforward business website costs more than a DIY setup, but the work is done for you. The site is tailored to your business, mobile-responsive and ready to represent you properly online.

Fully bespoke websites

A bespoke website is designed and built around your specific requirements. This takes more time than a template-based approach, but the result fits your branding, content and goals far more closely.

Functionality and integrations

Booking systems, calendars, ecommerce, automations, custom forms and third-party integrations all add development and testing time. The more functionality a website needs, the more it will cost to build properly.

Kornastone pricing

Clear starting prices, quoted properly

Kornastone doesn't sell fixed-price packages. Every project is priced around your requirements — but the starting points below show where each service level begins.

Website Design & Build

From £1,495

A bespoke, mobile-responsive website tailored to your small business. This level is ideal when you mainly need a strong online presence, service information, contact and enquiry functionality, and a professionally built website without complex integrations.

Website + Online Booking

From £1,995

Everything above, plus a straightforward booking system. This is suited to simpler booking needs, such as one practitioner or one central booking setup, customers choosing a service and available time, entering their details, booking online, receiving a confirmation, and straightforward cancellation or rescheduling.

It is not intended to cover complex multi-staff calendar systems.

Website + Advanced Booking / Calendar Integration

From £2,495

For more advanced booking requirements where the website needs deeper scheduling or calendar functionality. Examples may include Google Calendar integration, real-time availability syncing, multiple staff members, separate staff calendars, different working hours, customers selecting a particular staff member, different services assigned to different staff, different appointment durations, booking buffers, automated confirmations and reminders, cancellation and rescheduling rules, and more complex booking logic.

£2,495 is a starting price, not a fixed package price.

Why the same starting price does not fit every business

For example, a salon with one shared booking calendar should not be quoted the same as a salon with four stylists who each require separate availability, separate calendars and individual booking rules. The final quote always depends on the actual complexity of the system you need.

Larger projects

How more complex projects affect the quote

These are illustrative examples of how scope changes project value and cost. They are not advertised fixed packages.

Larger content-rich bespoke website

Around £4,000 – £6,000

A significantly larger website with more sections, functionality and custom work may fall in this range, depending on requirements. The exact figure depends on the number of pages, design complexity, content, integrations and any bespoke features.

Complex website with ecommerce

Around £6,000 – £8,000+

A similarly complex website with a properly integrated ecommerce shop, products, payments, stock awareness and additional functionality may fall around £6,000 – £8,000 or more, depending on scope.

Your accounts stay in your control

When a third-party account needs to be connected, such as Google Calendar, the client authorises the connection securely through their own account. Kornastone does not request or require your passwords or login details.

What affects the cost

The factors that shape a website quote

Whether you choose Kornastone or anyone else, these are the things that genuinely determine what a website costs.

Number of pages

A focused five-page website costs less than a site with ten or more pages. More pages mean more design, layout, content and testing time.

Design complexity

A clean, well-structured layout is quicker to build than a heavily customised design with animation, illustration or intricate interactive elements.

Amount of content

Supplying ready-to-use text and images keeps costs down. If content needs to be written, structured or sourced, that adds to the project.

Booking functionality

A simple appointment booking flow is very different from a multi-staff system with different service durations and rescheduling rules. Complexity here has a direct impact on cost.

Number of staff or calendars

One shared booking calendar is simpler than separate staff calendars, individual working hours and per-staff service assignments. Each additional calendar adds configuration and testing.

Google Calendar and other integrations

Connecting tools such as Google Calendar, email platforms or other third-party services adds development and testing time to the project.

Forms and enquiry systems

A straightforward contact form is standard. Conditional forms, quote calculators or multi-step enquiry flows take longer to design and build.

Automation

Automated confirmations, reminders, follow-ups and internal notifications are individually scoped — the more automation involved, the more the project costs.

Ecommerce

A properly integrated shop with products, payments, stock awareness and order management is a significant step up in complexity compared to a brochure-style website.

Branding and assets

An established logo, colour palette and imagery means design can start immediately. Creating or refining branding assets first adds to the scope.

Custom functionality

Anything beyond a standard business website — portals, dashboards, bespoke tools or unusual integrations — is assessed and quoted individually.

Ongoing complexity of the system

The more moving parts a website has — calendars, automations, user accounts, third-party services — the more careful the initial build and handover need to be.

Getting a quote

How to get an accurate price for your website

A proper quote comes from a proper conversation — not a price list. Here's how the process works.

  1. 01

    Tell us what you need

Send an enquiry or book a consultation and talk through your business, your services and what you want your website to do.

  2. 02

    Scope is confirmed

Pages, functionality, integrations, content and branding are all confirmed, so the quote reflects the actual work involved.

  3. 03

    A confirmed price

You receive a full quote before anything begins. A 50% initial payment secures your project, with the balance due before final handover.

  • Bespoke pricing — no fixed packages that don't fit
  • Full quote confirmed before any work begins
  • Typical completion in around 7–10 working days
  • Your own domain can be connected at no extra build cost
